Description Tomas Petr 2021-06-08 12:42:59 UTC
Describe the issue:
When using rgw-nfs ganesha, the dashboard under [NFS] tab reports:
---
Information
Ganesha config location is not configured. Please set the GANESHA_RADOS_POOL_NAMESPACE setting.
Please consult the >documentation< on how to configure and enable the NFS Ganesha management functionality.
---

Where >documentation< points to RHCS 4 Dashboard doc, but in this doc is not any information about this.
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_ceph_storage/4/html-single/dashboard_guide/index

(docu link added in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1779192)

The documentation should cover this, the steps are same as in upstream for Nautilus (on which RHCS 4 based on)

-in case of commands add version for containerized evn podman/docker as well, like:
podman exec ceph dashboard set-ganesha-clusters-rados-pool-namespace <pool_name>[/<namespace>]

Comment 2 Tomas Petr 2021-06-08 12:52:04 UTC
for the containerized env command I forget to add container, correct syntax would be:
podman exec <ceph_mon_container> ceph dashboard set-ganesha-clusters-rados-pool-namespace <pool_name>[/<namespace>]

Comment 3 Mary Frances Hull 2021-08-25 14:24:59 UTC
Closing ticket as this is not supported in RHCS 4.

From customer support ticket:
the Ceph dashboard currently does not support managing NFS Ganesha, it is know issue in RHCS 4.0 [1]:
