Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Comment 1 Calvin Smith 2021-06-15 18:46:54 UTC
After upgrade to pulp version 3, satellite reports incorrect version of pulpcore (pulp 3)

Steps to reproduce:
1 Migrate from pulp2 to pulp3
2 Browse to infrastructure->capsules, select satellite server
3 open services tab

Note pulpcore is reported as version 2.1.0

Should see pulpcore version 3.x

See attached image

Comment 3 Justin Sherrill 2021-07-06 19:22:29 UTC
after some discussion, we're going to rename the 'Pulpcore' service on that page to 'Content'

Comment 4 Brad Buckingham 2021-07-13 17:13:28 UTC
Justin,

Out of curiosity, what is 2.1.0 representative of?
Is there another service (not pulpcore) that is 2.1.0?

It seems like customers might expect to see something that indicates they are now on pulp3. What should they look for to know that they are on pulp 3?

Thanks!

Comment 5 Justin Sherrill 2021-07-13 18:16:01 UTC
its the smart proxy plugin version. One thing to look for is the name of the smart proxy/capsule plugins installed:

On satellite 6.8, you'll see: Pulp
On satellite 6.9, you'll see: Pulp & Pulpcore
On satellite 6.10, you'll see: Pulpcore

After this change you'll see:

On satellite 6.10, you'll see: Content

Created redmine issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/33211 from this bug

Comment 7 Bryan Kearney 2021-08-05 16:05:14 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/33211 has been resolved.

Comment 9 Vladimír Sedmík 2021-08-24 08:35:53 UTC
Verified with fresh and upgraded Satellite 6.10.0 snap 14 - Content > Version 3.0.0 is displayed
