Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Lukas Herbolt 2021-06-21 10:43:50 UTC
Description of problem: kernel 8.4 started printing out warning about deprecated mount option. This leads to warning message whenever nfs is mounted via -hosts and host.net as both of them are using intr by default.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mount nfs via automout using -host option or auto.net

Actual results:
Following warning is printed:
kernel: nfs: Deprecated parameter 'intr'

Expected results:
Deprecated option is not used and no warning is printed.

Additional info:
The intr mount option was deprecated since kernel-2.6.25. ;-)
So it was ignored even in RHEL 6.

Comment 2 Ian Kent 2021-06-22 11:56:01 UTC
To test this:
1) Setup an NFS server with some exports.
2) Ensure "logging = debug" is set in the /etc/autofs.conf.
3) Start autofs.
4) Ensure the "/net -hosts" line in /etc/auto.master is not commented out.
5) Run ls /net/<server-name>.
6) Stop autofs.

In the log (or journalctl output) you will see lines (in my case server
is gandalf) like :
mount(nfs): calling mount -t nfs -s -o nosuid,nodev,intr gandalf:/work /net/gandalf/work
since the exports will be automounted because of the aliase "ls='ls --color=auto'".

If the alias is not present in the testing environment use ls --color=auto to trigger
the mounts.

After the change the intr option will no longer be present.

The intr option is also removed from /etc/auto.net by the above patch.
