Description of problem: pip3 install python-nss fails to compile with 3.6-3.9 on fedora 34. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1 sudo dnf install nss-devel nspr-devel 2. python -m venv v 3. source v/bin/activate 4. pip install python-nss Actual results: See https://gist.github.com/ssbarnea/2178358e19f180f00fec8ff49ce27c14 Expected results: Be able to install python-nss using pip inside a python virtualenv. Additional info: This impacts *testing* dependencies on OpenStack, where we need to install python-nss using pip from pypi.org on all supported versions of python (3.6-3.9) https://github.com/openstack/requirements/blob/master/openstack_requirements/tests/files/upper-constraints.txt#L307 While Red Hat includes a python3-nss pre-build rpm, this partially sorts only the issue for one version of python and not all 4 of them. As the last version of python-nss was release more than 4 years ago, I suspect fedora RPM is using some patches that allow the package to be compile, changes that were not published to https://pypi.org/project/python-nss/#history Releasing a 1.0.1post1 package on pypi.org should address this issue.
I have a patch for this. How do I submit this upstream? jdennis email seems to be disabled...
