.`virt-who` does not work properly with Hyper-V hosts
When using `virt-who` to set up RHEL 9 virtual machines (VMs) on a Hyper-V hypervisor, `virt-who` does not properly communicate with the hypervisor, and the setup fails. This is because of a deprecated encryption method in the `openssl` package.
To work around this problem, use `openssl` in legacy mode. To do so, edit the `/etc/pki/tls/openssl.cnf` configuration file to include the following entries:
----
[provider_sect]
default = default_sect
legacy = legacy_sect
[legacy_sect]
activate = 1
[default_sect]
activate = 1
----
As a result, `virt-who` will be able to properly communicate with Hyper-V.

I think this needs to be deleted from rhel9 release notes again https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/9-beta/html-single/9.0_release_notes/index#known-issue_subscription-management , it was fixed in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008215 https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/9-beta/html-single/9.0_release_notes/index#bug-fix_subscription-management (In reply to Klaas Demter from comment #33) > I think this needs to be deleted from rhel9 release notes again > https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/9- > beta/html-single/9.0_release_notes/index#known-issue_subscription-management > , it was fixed in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008215 > https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/9- > beta/html-single/9.0_release_notes/index#bug-fix_subscription-management Hello Klaas, thank you for the heads-up!
