Description Gal Zaidman 2021-07-20 08:28:47 UTC
Description of problem:

In Openshift 4.9 we added the csi-resizer.
Currently, the resizer doesn't work in OFFLINE mode due to an implementation based on DiskAttachments and the fact that the NodeStage Cap needs fixing[1].
Once BZ[1] is done we should port to implementation based on Disk objects to support OFFLINE expansion.

How to test:
make sure test case:
"External Storage [Driver: csi.ovirt.org] [Testpattern: Dynamic PV (default fs)(allowExpansion)] volume-expand Verify if offline PVC expansion works"
passes

Comment 2 michal 2021-08-06 10:17:45 UTC
if I create pvc without pod and resize of pvc works, is it enough to check?

Comment 3 Gal Zaidman 2021-08-08 07:18:38 UTC
(In reply to michal from comment #2)
> if I create pvc without pod and resize of pvc works, is it enough to check?

yes, also in CSI tests I see this is working so we have a pretty good coverage

Comment 4 michal 2021-08-08 07:26:59 UTC
step to reproduce:
1) Create PVC and don't create any pod
2) resize storage of PVC
3) Check that size of storage update
actual:
size updated successfully.
