Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Tanya Tereshchenko 2021-07-20 18:25:49 UTC
Description of problem:
Filelists and changelog metadata is not parsed properly which can lead to the dependency problems when packages are in use.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pulp_rpm >=3.13.0,<3.13.4

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Sync any new repo (content which is not in Satellite yet)
2. Check the published repository: in the repodata directory filelists.xml and other xml should have records and as many as there are packages in a repo.

Comment 7 Lai 2021-08-02 20:50:17 UTC
Steps to test:

1. Create a custom repo and sync it
2. Note the number of packages in the repo
3. Go to <sat url>.com/pulp/content/<location of repo>/repodata/
4. You should see a list of the synced repos
5. Download the filelists.xml.gz and other.xml.gz
6. Extract the files from 5 and ensure the number of packages are the same.

Note: I used yum0, which has 32 packages in it

Expected result:
Should see 32 packages in the file

Actual:
Saw 32 packages in the file.

Verified on 6.10 snap 11 with python3-pulp-rpm-3.14.0-1.el7pc.noarch
