jaxb failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f35 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=72384315 For details on the mass rebuild see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_35_Mass_Rebuild Please fix jaxb at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks, jaxb will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 36, jaxb will be retired, if it still fails to build. Dear Maintainer, your package has an open Fails To Build From Source bug for Fedora 35. Action is required from you. If you can fix your package to build, perform a build in koji, and either create an update in bodhi, or close this bug without creating an update, if updating is not appropriate [1]. If you are working on a fix, set the status to ASSIGNED to acknowledge this. If you have already fixed this issue, please close this Bugzilla report. Following the policy for such packages [2], your package will be orphaned if this bug remains in NEW state more than 8 weeks (not sooner than 2021-09-23). A week before the mass branching of Fedora 36 according to the schedule [3], any packages not successfully rebuilt at least on Fedora 34 will be retired regardless of the status of this bug. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 35 development cycle. Changing version to 35.
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 35-final by Fedora user edewata using the blocker tracking app because: The following packages failed to build on F35+ due to changes in Maven/Ant: - jaxb: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1987593 - jaxb-istack-commons: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1987594 Unfortunately there has not been assistance from Mavent/Ant maintainer to fix the problem. To get around the problem, we have modified Dogtag PKI to drop the dependency on JAXB packages. The dist-git has actually been modified, and the build is ready and has been tested on RHEL and Fedora, but it might not receive enough karma to go into stable before the freeze deadline: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-2c86bcd3f3 If we can get a freeze exception, we will be able to retire the following packages without having to fix the build issues: - jaxb - jaxb-dtd-parser - jaxb-fi - jaxb-istack-commons - jaxb-stax-ex - xmlstreambuffer
Never mind. The Bodhi update above has been added to stable. The package has been retired. The exception is no longer needed.
