Description Michael Henriksen 2021-08-02 18:52:01 UTC
Description of problem:

The VM snapshot controller may now attempt to freeze guest filesystems before taking VolumeSnapshots. However, there is currently no deadline or timeout for VM snapshot operations. So if there is a persistent error creating VolumeSnapshots for example, then the guest will never be unfrozen

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create running VM with guest agent and snapshot-able storage
2. Create dummy webhook to block VolumeSnapshot creation
3. Snapshot VM in step 1
4. Observe VMI status stays frozen

Actual results:

Host will be frozen until dummy webhook is removed

Expected results:

The snapshot operation will time out after user configured timeout (with sensible default if omitted) and the guest will be unfrozen
