Description of problem:

After cloning CMO repo, `make versions` fails.

How reproducible: Always


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Clone CMO repo
2. Run `make versions`

Actual results:
make fails

Expected results:
make does not fail

This is purely tooling change and has 0 impact on the product.
