Description of problem: I was working with OCP 4.7 and upgraded to 4.8 and i noticed that the NetworkManager profile folder named changed From: system-connections-merged To: systemConnectionsMerged Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 8.4 Actual results: Network manager config folder name change to systemConnectionsMerged Expected results: The name should stay the same or be changed in previous versions Additional info: I am using this folder for some config export import, but other then that way changing the folder name?
The directory name was changed in openshift: https://github.com/openshift/machine-config-operator/commit/eef0b76fb55658d602218a459e6a4027b678a784#diff-afb45a3711a77d94f26471d9d94a7f7a03d931d9e72bdf849f2e26e2711d6fd7 Prashanth, can you please look into this?
Yes, the name was changed because of a systemd bug which was preventing the mount from working. what issue are you hitting? the changes to this folder are ephemeral and will not be persisted anyway on upgrades.
Hi @Prashanth, I am using this folder in exporting and importing Network manager profiles from OCP versions. I am coping the configuration files in 4.7 and saving them so i can use them in 4.8 but the ignition and MCO doesn't work because the folder name is changed. The MCO that is used cant work on both OCP versions because of this and it cause us problems
coincidentally https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1992240 was opened today morning requiring the fix to be backported to 4.7 anyways. I have opened https://github.com/openshift/machine-config-operator/pull/2709 which backports the fix to 4.7 and which should address your concern.
As part of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1992240 the fix has been backported to 4.7 . the next builds of 4.7 should have this change. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1992240 ***
