Description alyasoff 2021-08-23 21:06:07 UTC
After the latest upgrade of rawhide, around 19:30 (UST), system won't boot with the latest kernel 5.14.0-0.rc7.54.fc36.x86_64. The error at boot time reads

.../.../grub/core/kern/efi/sb.c:150: bad shim signature

System still boots with kernel 5.14.0-0.rc6.46.fc36.x86_64

Verified as well running CentOS Stream 9 VM under Fedora 36 host via QEMU/KVM.

In particular, CentOS Stream 9 VM with kernel 5.14.0-165.el9.x86_64 boots fine. But upgrading to kernel-5.14.0-171.el9.x86_64 hangs with:

error: ../../grub-core/kern/efi/sb.c:183:bad shim signature.
error: ../../grub-core/loader/i386/efi/linux.c:259:you need to load the kernel first.

The host machine is: Linux A.B.C 5.19.14-200.fc36.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Oct 5 21:31:17 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
