Created attachment 1817378 [details] Permissions to the mounted drive.' is hardcode Description of problem: Hardcode happens when create PersistentVolumeClaims. 'Permissions to the mounted drive.' should be translatable in Simplified Chinese and Japanese, Korean languages. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.8 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1.Login OpenShift Web console 2.The language preference set to Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean language. 3.In Administrator, access Storage->PersistentVolumeClaim. 4.Create PersistentVolumeClaim Actual results: In the page, 'Permissions to the mounted drive.' display in English. Expected results: 'Permissions to the mounted drive.' should be translatable in Simplified Chinese and Japanese, Korean languages. Additional info:
Just a couple of notes. It appears to be working in the 4.9 nightly. In 4.8, I did notice this behavior. If you go to the Storage > PersistentVolumeClaim and then change the language preference, but the string "Permissions to the mounted drive" is not translated, while most of the page is translated. If you refresh the page then the string "Permissions to the mounted drive" does appear translated.
Xu could you please confirm the mentioned in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1997418#c1 Thanks
I haven't had time to look at this this sprint (assigned yesterday), but will investigate in an upcoming sprint.
@Kim Dobestein, I will check it in 4.9 when I get the 4.9 build. Thanks.
I can also confirm this appears to be working in 4.9/4.10. I'll check with the team to see if we are backporting i18n-related fixes to 4.8. To my knowledge, we largely haven't been.
I spoke to our team lead and she said that from her understanding, we don't backport any bugs that aren't medium or higher unless there's a case for the bug being critical. As I mentioned earlier, this bug is already fixed in 4.9, so I'm going to close this for now. @xurl.com - please let us know if you have additional justification we could use. Thanks!
