Description Viraj Alankar 2000-10-29 01:48:53 UTC
The output of who shows the FROM field of the user blank.

Comment 1 Daniel Roesen 2000-10-31 13:23:54 UTC
Confirmed. It shows the FROM location when using the -l switch, though.

Comment 2 Jeff Johnson 2001-01-06 19:41:45 UTC
Add -l if you want to see the FROM field. I'm loathe to change the default
behavior of existing
commands when there are a adequate workarounds. Here's a bash alias for example:
	alias who="/usr/bin/who -l"

Comment 3 Daniel Roesen 2001-01-06 21:36:23 UTC
RH 6.0 who(1) shows FROM location.
RH 6.2 who(1) does not.

From man who:
-l, --lookup attempt to canonicalize hostnames via DNS

So "-l" is not a "show FROM field" switch.

I could bet this is a bug in newer who(1) versions.
