+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #2007379 +++ Description of problem: Events are not generated when master offset is above or below threshold Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Actual results: NO events for master offset No events when clock class changes from passive to slave or slave to faulty Expected results: Should see events for offset Should see events for clock class change.
Or, Were you able to use Aneesh's setup to test this bug? /KenY
Following comment is from Or, need Aneesh to confirm the results, e.g., whether Aneesh has also applied proper config. "i can see SNO creating events for master so it's a verification for this bug, but the SNO creates this events without my config so i'm not sure it's valid"
I opened a request for IT to help me configure a grandmaster in the test cluster lab, we need a release version to make sure the bug is verified fully. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a clear verification on the setup, so i guess we are blocked until we get compatible hardware or get the grandmaster setup by IT.
Or, I had thought you were using Aneesh's setup. I had offered this to Yang last week. As well, I have put cnfde4 aside if you need it. I do not think you will get a grandmaster out of IT although I am interested in how this could be facilitated. In the meantime, let's use Westford lab 3 equipment. You have 2 options. /KenY
I tried verifying the bugs on Aneesh's cluster with version: 4.9.0-202110041951 but had an issue with: "ImagePullBackOff", I think we should redeploy to a newer version
verified on ptp-operator version 4.9.0-202110182323
