We seem to have broken the use of updates=http:// (or ftp) -- the updates.img is pulled down fine, but then afterwards, networking is a bit wonky and eg, nfs mounts constantly time out causing the install to fail
I'm pretty sure this is because we're bringing down the network interface. And the reason we started doing that was to avoid crashes in libdhcp. David -- did you ever make any progress in fixing that? We really need to get this fixed before FC6 final -- not having the functionality significantly impacts our ability to get fixes to people with problems installing.
Any progress here?
I haven't looked at it because I've been trying to get all of the IPv6 issues worked out. I've made a short list of things I must fix before FC6 final and this is one of them. More details later. I don't have time to look at it today.
Fixed and committed to rawhide.
