Hello,

Please note that this comment was generated automatically. If you feel that this output has mistakes, please contact me via email (mhroncok).

Your package (dotnet5.0) Fails To Install in Fedora 36:

can't install dotnet-runtime-5.0:
  - nothing provides liblttng-ust.so.0()(64bit) needed by dotnet-runtime-5.0-5.0.8-1.fc35.x86_64

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

If you don't react accordingly to the policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks.

P.S. The data was generated solely from koji buildroot, so it might be newer than the latest compose or the content on mirrors.

P.P.S. If this bug has been reported in the middle of upgrading multiple dependent packages, please consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Thanks!

Hello,

This is the first reminder (step 3 from https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/#_package_removal_for_long_standing_ftbfs_and_fti_bugs).

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

Comment 2 Omair Majid 2021-11-17 15:27:57 UTC
Given how close to upstream EOL .NET 6 is, I am thinking of orphaning and removing this package from Fedora. I have started a discussion here: https://lists.fedorahosted.org/archives/list/dotnet-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/U5MXHBQU2GQCH6NFWCUSF6GOUTJQI77W/

Comment 3 Omair Majid 2021-11-17 15:28:56 UTC
I meant .NET 5 in the previous comment. It's EOL is just around the expected Fedora 36 release date. .NET 6 just got released and isn't even in Fedora (yet).

Comment 4 Miro Hrončok 2021-12-11 01:13:49 UTC
Hello,

This is the second reminder (step 4 from https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/#_package_removal_for_long_standing_ftbfs_and_fti_bugs).

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

Comment 5 Fedora Admin user for bugzilla script actions 2022-01-11 00:07:56 UTC
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

Comment 6 Omair Majid 2022-01-11 00:18:57 UTC
.NET 5 will be EOL upstream right around when Fedora 36 is set to be released. I have retired the package in Fedora Rawhide.
