Description of problem: ----------------------- Hosted Engine (HE) deployment fails as there are no available repositories during deployment <snip> "[ ERROR ] ['ovirt-engine-setup-4.4.9.5-0.1.el8ev.noarch'] cannot be found in enabled repositories.", " Seems like required channels/repositories are not available on the system.", "[ ERROR ] Failed to execute stage 'Environment customization': Setup cannot be found in enabled repositories.", </snip> Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ------------------------------------------------------------- RHV-4.4.9 rhvm-appliance-4.4-20211111.1.el8ev.x86_64.rpm How reproducible: ----------------- 100% Steps to Reproduce: -------------------- 1. Start RHHI-V deployment either from cockpit or from CLI ( ansible based automated deployment ) Actual results: --------------- Gluster configurations and volumes are created, but the HE deployment fails with the error <snip> "[ ERROR ] ['ovirt-engine-setup-4.4.9.5-0.1.el8ev.noarch'] cannot be found in enabled repositories.", " Seems like required channels/repositories are not available on the system.", "[ ERROR ] Failed to execute stage 'Environment customization': Setup cannot be found in enabled repositories.", </snip> Expected results: ------------------ HE Deployment should be successful Additional information ----------------------- This bug came in as a regression because of the bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2003441 as analyzed by dev team HE deployment is successful with RHV 4.4.8 appliance(rhvm-appliance-4.4-20210827.0.el8ev.x86_64.rpm) though
This issue is a blocker for RHHI-V deployment as the HE deployment fails with the error as mentioned in comment0 HE deployment fails for IPV4 based deployment initiated either from cockpit or using 'hosted-engine --deploy'
QE: Flow is: - Install RHV engine 4.4.9 (including otopi>=1.9.6, rhvm-setup-plugins) - Disable all repos (or at least those that provide ovirt-engine-setup) - engine-setup With a broken version it will fail as in comment 0. With a fixed build it will not. The fix for current bug is to just remove from rhvm-setup-plugin the code doing this test, as it's currently not needed. For a better future replacement I opened bug 2024157.
Verified this issue with the version of rhvm-appliance-4.4-20211117.1 and RHVH-4.4-20211118.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso RHHI-V deployment is successful Note: The deployment is carried out with IPv4 based hosts
Based on comment #8 moving to VERIFIED
I have also verified it with IPV6 based deployment and hosted engine deployment was successful
