Description Brian Speck 2000-11-03 14:01:30 UTC
While it is installing It will go and install packages for awhile and then it will produce an error and then shutdown the system..
I have updated the anaconda during install and have checked the Hard drive for errors.. and everything seems fine on the hardware part.. it is
just when installing the packages it will crash..

I am using an AMD K6-2 350
With 384 mb ram
I have an IDE hard drive (8Gb) with windows installed
and a SCSI hard drive (9Gb) where I am trying to install Linux.
I am installing LILO in the MBR..

I have tried to run recover on it to access the hard drive to pull the install.log but can not get into the hard drive after re-boot.

Please attach the error output you see when the installer fails.

Comment 2 Brian Speck 2000-11-04 02:19:41 UTC
I got the following ONCE:
Install exited abnormally -- Received Signal 11
    Sending Termination Signals ... Done
    Sending Kill Signals ... Done
    Disabling Swap ..
    /tmp/swap/sda5
    Unmounting Filesystems...
    /mnt/sysimage/proc
    /mnt/sysimage
    /proc/bus/usb
    /mnt/runtime
    /mnt/source unmount failed (16)
    /dep/pts
    /proc
You may safely reboot your system..

Normally I get just:
    Sending Termination Signals...Done
    ETC ETC...
and then it automatically reboots the machine.

was there text above your "Install exiting abnormally" that said "Traceback" and
had additional info there? That information is very important to help us debug
this issue ... :)
