Description Ken Young 2021-12-22 18:57:44 UTC
Description of problem:

A significant challenge of configuring a RAN Distributed Unit is the number of reboots of the system required to configure the platform for the real time workload. This can increase the deployment time to upto 4 hours to deploy a single SNO.

An improvement in the reboot recovery has been devised and can be leveraged to reduce the number of reboot required for a full DU deployment. This can greatly increase customer deployment velocity.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

4.10

How reproducible:

Perform a normal SNO deployment and configure the platform for the DU

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Deploy SNO
2. Configure platform for DU

Actual results:
Many reboots which may take upto 4 hours worst case.

Expected results:
Deployment in less than 2 hours.

This is more of a feature request than a bug, strictly speaking. Migrating to a Jira issue: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/CNF-5768
