It's expected that kbd-layout-viewer5 won't work with Wayland. (I suppose you are on Wayland, right?) I might be patching/asking upstream to make kbd-layout-viewer5 to exit elegantly rather than throwing an error and dumping core.
@yanqiyu01 Hi! I actually use Wayland. Yes, It would be nice to get a warning or courtesy message that tells users about that tool doesn't work on Wayland. Thank you.
