Comment 1 George 2022-01-14 01:42:46 UTC
More strange behaviour with new kernel.
Although lightdm allows me to login, akonadi cannot start properly which prevents me using kmail & other PIM components.
booting into previous kernel -348 all issues are resolved.

Just incase this isn't a kernel bug, I've noticed something I can't pin my finger on.

On the bad kernels, it takes a minute and a half to shut down.
If you do a <Ctrl>-F12 you will see
A stop job is running for Simple Desktop Display Manager (30s / 1min 30s)
Which will count up to 1min 30s.

So, sddm is clearly stuck on something, both starting up, and shutting down.
But I can't figure out what.

Resolved with kernel update
