RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Alexey Tikhonov 2022-01-17 17:31:13 UTC
This bug was initially created as a copy of Bug #1859315

I am copying this bug because: to track fix for RHEL9

Description of problem:
When setting a nonstandard kerberos port. sssd will use standard port

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
sssd-2.2.3-20.el8

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. krb5_server = kerberos.example.local:21088

Actual results:
Initiating TCP connection to stream 192.168.1.143:88

Expected results:
Initiating TCP connection to stream 192.168.1.143:21088

Additional info:

Using:

[sssd]
    services = nss, pam
    domains = EXAMPLE.LOCAL

[domain/EXAMPLE.LOCAL]
    id_provider = files
    auth_provider = krb5
    krb5_realm = EXAMPLE.LOCAL
    krb5_server = kerberos.example.local:21088
    krb5_validate = false
    debug_level = 9

sssd does see the new port

[sssd[be[EXAMPLE.LOCAL]]] [dp_get_options] (0x0400): Option krb5_server has value kerberos.example.local:21088
[sssd[be[EXAMPLE.LOCAL]]] [_krb5_servers_init] (0x0400): Added Server kerberos.example.local:21088

But when it sends to krb5_child it uses the standard port

[[sssd[krb5_child[53300]]]] [sss_child_krb5_trace_cb] (0x4000): [53300] 1595351372.25290: Sending initial UDP request to dgram 192.168.1.143:88
[[sssd[krb5_child[53300]]]] [sss_child_krb5_trace_cb] (0x4000): [53300] 1595351373.48234: Initiating TCP connection to stream 192.168.1.143:88
[[sssd[krb5_child[53300]]]] [sss_child_krb5_trace_cb] (0x4000): [53300] 1595351375.96372: Terminating TCP connection to stream 192.168.1.143:88
[[sssd[krb5_child[53300]]]] [sss_child_krb5_trace_cb] (0x4000): [53300] 1595351376.50495: Sending retry UDP request to dgram 192.168.1.143:88
