Description Mugdha Soni 2022-01-20 11:05:17 UTC
Description of problem :
-------------------------
While installing odf-operator from UI a pop-up was shown to refresh the web console. When clicking on "Refresh web console", the page is reloading to Install Operator page. The odf-oparator is already installed.

Version of all relevant components:
-------------------------------------
OCP:- 4.10.0-0.nightly-2022-01-18-044014
ODF:- 4.10.0-79

Can this issue reproducible?
------------------------------
yes

Can this issue reproduce from the UI?

If this is a regression, please provide more details to justify this:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, we had same issue in ODF 4.9 "https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2013109" .

Steps to Reproduce:
---------------------
1.Install Openshift Data Foundation from Operator hub.

2.After clicking "Install", stay on the same page and wait for the pod-up to refresh the web console.

3.Click "Refresh web console" given in the pop-up.

Actual results:
-----------------
Clicking on "Refresh web console" pop-up, the page is reloading to Install Operator page.

Expected results:
------------------
Installed Operators page or "Installing Operator" page(which was present before refreshing) can be shown after refreshing.

Hi Bipul

With the following versions the refresh web console pop up is till redirecting to operator hub page .

[root@localhost to]# oc get clusterversion
NAME VERSION AVAILABLE PROGRESSING SINCE STATUS
version 4.10.0-0.nightly-2022-02-15-041303 True False 51m Cluster version is 4.10.0-0.nightly-2022-02-15-041303
[root@localhost to]# oc get csv odf-operator.v4.10.0 -o yaml -n openshift-storage| grep full_version
    full_version: 4.10.0-156
          f:full_version: {}

This is a tracker please mark the original bug as failed_qa with the above comments. Thank you.

Comment 16 Bipul Adhikari 2022-03-15 15:58:40 UTC
I do not believe this bug qualifies as a blocker. The original issue that was brought up in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2013109 was that when the popup appeared and users pressed Refresh it would show the Operator Installation form again which would confuse the user as they had just installed the Operator, however that behavior was fixed and users are now directed to Operator Hub.
This fix of making it move to Installed Operators is a medium priority bug or can be considered as an enhancement as well.
I propose we remove it as a blocker.

Comment 17 Mudit Agarwal 2022-04-05 13:50:23 UTC
Not a 4.10 blocker as discussed offline

Comment 24 Mudit Agarwal 2022-06-07 10:48:55 UTC
This is a minor enhancement as mentioned in the above comments, moreover for ODF it is just a tracker. If we really want this bug in 4.11 we should push OCP team to fix it.

Comment 43 Mudit Agarwal 2023-05-09 13:05:30 UTC
Sanjal/Bipul, this should have been fixed in 4.13
OCP PR is merged in master long back, can you please check what is the issue here?

should not it be pack-ported to 4.10? comment #6 states it is already in 4.10? if fix for ODF 4.10, 4.11, 4.12 skipped and not planned I need to check 4.13 and we need to add notification to user about a known issue.

Comment 45 Sanjal Katiyar 2023-05-09 13:27:04 UTC
seems like there was some confusion in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2042914#c39 and BZ should not have been moved to MODIFIED, even though https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2013109 is closed, resolution is deferred and it is being tracked from Jira: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/OCPBUGS-9000, which is still in POST.
