RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Íñigo Huguet 2022-01-21 09:40:12 UTC
General update of wireless stack & drivers for RHEL8.6 to upstream version 5.16 and later fixes

Comment 1 Íñigo Huguet 2022-01-25 10:02:05 UTC
Note for ourselves: ensure to check that this commit, which is part of this update, doesn't break ath11k hardware (i.e. WCN6855 or QCA6390)

Comment 2 Íñigo Huguet 2022-01-25 10:02:53 UTC
Sorry, the commit:
72f412434772 Revert "ath11k: add read variant from SMBIOS for download board data"

Comment 9 Ken Benoit 2022-02-22 17:06:42 UTC
Ran testing against RHEL-8.6.0-20220220.3 with kernel-4.18.0-368.el8.mr2125_220221_1217. Testing passed without issue against an Intel AX211, Intel 6200, Intel 8265, RTL8852AE, RTL8822BE, 88W8897, BCM43224, and Intel 2230. Leaving Verified:Tested and SanityOnly intact.

Comment 14 Ken Benoit 2022-03-01 15:53:29 UTC
Ran automated wireless regression testing against RHEL-8.6.0-20220227.2 with kernel-4.18.0-371.el8 installed (since it hasn't landed in the nightlies yet). Didn't come across any issues during testing. Verifying as SanityOnly.

Comment 17 Íñigo Huguet 2022-03-15 12:31:06 UTC
@jbenc: shuali helped me with the testing of fq_codel after the changes made during this rebase. They already had automated tests for it and she ran them for me. I've added the results of the tests as attachments, no regressions were found.
