Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 20466
reload fails to recreate pid file
Last modified: 2007-04-18 12:29:43 EDT
Using 8.2.2_P5-25. named creates its pid file as root. Later, when issuing reload from ndc or initscript, a message is logged that named can't
write to /var/run/named.pid.
One possible solution would be to give the sticky bit to /var/run and to create the pid file with ownership named.named.
Fixed in 9.1.0-6
