Description Fedora Release Engineering 2022-01-27 09:36:37 UTC
python-cryptography failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f36

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=81985403

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_36_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix python-cryptography at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
python-cryptography will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 37,
python-cryptography will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Christian Heimes 2022-01-27 10:16:28 UTC
PyCA cryptography has detected a memory leak in OpenSSL:

E               AssertionError: {'94512040874960': {'size': 240, 'path': 'crypto/evp/digest.c', 'line': 833, 'backtrace': None}, '94512042605008': {'size': 5, 'path': 'crypto/core_algorithm.c', 'line': 129, 'backtrace': None}, '94512042605520': {'size': 56, 'path': 'crypto/threads_pthread.c', 'line': 38, 'backtrace': None}}
tests/hazmat/backends/test_openssl_memleak.py:164: AssertionError

Comment 5 Christian Heimes 2022-01-27 14:52:07 UTC
Marking this as duplicate of #2042413. The memleak tests are flaky under 3.10 and broken under 3.11. python-cryptography-36.0.0-3.fc36 build has memleak tests disabled.
