slv2 failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f36 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=81986573 For details on the mass rebuild see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_36_Mass_Rebuild Please fix slv2 at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks, slv2 will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 37, slv2 will be retired, if it still fails to build. I'm having a problem running an old python program after the latest lv2 updates in rawhide [1]. So, I'm investigating what might be going wrong. As part of that, I'm looking at the lv2 packages, and I noticed that slv2 failed to build during the mass rebuild. When I downloaded the src.rpm, if failed because I have pipewire-jack-audio-connection-kit-devel installed in my rawhide, and it Build Requires jack-audio-connection-kit-devel. When I changed that Build Requires to pipewire-jack-audio-connection-kit-devel, it built and installed successfully. I have the latest gcc and glibc available in rawhide installed. And also all the rest of the lv2* packages. I thought I would post the change here so that it could be remedied. Though it built and installed successfully, it didn't fix my problem, though it did change the final error messages. I think it got farther into the start, but it still hung. 1. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2050361
Another caveat, I've read that fedora builds can't access the network when being built. When slv2 was building, there was an initial unpacking stage that was fast, then a long pause, and during that pause I saw network activity, and then the packages built. So, this package might have a problem because it needs to access the network while building. I'm not sure that's what the activity was, but it wasn't actively me, though it could have been something else on the system.
