RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Troy Dawson 2022-02-03 19:35:18 UTC
I am building the KDE Plasma desktop in EPEL9. A package requires xorg-x11-drv-evdev-devel to build.

The package affected by this is plasma-desktop, the Plasma Desktop Shell.
It is one of the critical packages for the KDE Plasma Desktop.

Please add xorg-x11-drv-evdev-devel to RHEL9 CRB as soon as possible.

Comment 1 Peter Hutterer 2022-02-04 03:23:42 UTC
WFH, this devel package is just the evdev.pc pkgconfig file and a single header with the property names (which are strings, public API and will never change). So the maintenance effort here is almost nil.

Troy, can you check if you need xorg-x11-drv-libinput as well? So we can get this sorted at the same time.

Comment 2 Troy Dawson 2022-02-04 14:24:17 UTC
Both xorg-x11-drv-libinput and xorg-x11-drv-libinput-devel are already in RHEL9 (xorg-x11-drv-libinput in appstream, xorg-x11-drv-libinput-devel in CRB)
So, we are good with just xorg-x11-drv-evdev-devel

Comment 10 Troy Dawson 2022-03-14 21:30:16 UTC
Sorry for being a little slow.
I can see xorg-x11-drv-evdev-devel in CentOS Stream 9 CRB and more importantly the epel9 buildroot.
Thank you very much for the quick reponse.
This ticket can be closed if you want.
