/var/log when rollback host to old layer

Description of problem:
On UEFI machines, when RHVH is upgraded from version 4.4.10 to 4.5.0, the host enters emergency mode.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHVH: rhvh-4.5.0.2-0.20220216.0+1

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install "redhat-virtualization-host-4.4.10-202202081536_8.5" on UEFI machine
2. Login to host, setup local repos and point to "redhat-virtualization-host-4.5.0-202202161646_8.6"
3. Add host to RHVM
4. Create VM on this host with NFS storage
5. Upgrade the host via RHVM
6. Check the host status after upgrade is complete

Actual results:
After upgrade, the host enters emergency mode and cannot enter the new layer.

Expected results:
After upgrade, the host reboot normally, and the host status on RHVM is "Up"

Additional info:
Install "RHVH-4.5-20220216.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso" directly on the UEFI machine, reboot the host after the installation, and it will also enter emergecy mode.

Comment 4 Sandro Bonazzola 2022-02-24 08:08:04 UTC
It might be caused by kernel still being in beta for 8.6 and as such, not working on UEFI. Need to be re-evaluated when we have 8.6 final build.

Comment 5 Sandro Bonazzola 2022-04-01 08:14:07 UTC
Marking this as test only as this is expected to be ok once RHEL 8.6 kernel/shim will be signed for UEFI secure boot.

Comment 7 cshao 2022-05-05 06:55:06 UTC
Test version:
rhvh-4.4.10.3-0.20220321.0
rhvh-4.5.0.5-0.20220425.0

Test steps:
1. Install "RHVH-4.4-20220321.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso" on UEFI machine
2. Login to host, setup local repos and point to "redhat-virtualization-host-4.5.0-20220425_8.6"
3. Add host to RHVM
4. Upgrade the host via RHVM
5. Check the host status after upgrade is complete

Test results:
After upgrade, the host reboot normally, and the host status on RHVM is "Up".
So the bug is fixed, change bug status to VERIFIED.
