Description of problem: I changed the keyboard layout in sddm on Wayland from af to us in a Fedora 36 KDE Plasma installation. I rebooted. The sddm on Wayland keyboard layout setting didn't persist on the next boot. The keyboard layout was af again. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): sddm-0.19.0^git20220228.c257a40-3.fc36.x86_64 sddm-wayland-plasma-5.24.2-3.fc36.noarch plasma-workspace-5.24.2-3.fc36.x86_64 qt5-qtbase-5.15.2-33.fc36.x86_64 How reproducible: This problem happened each of several times I set the Keyboard layout in sddm and rebooted. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot a Fedora 36 KDE Plasma installation updated to 2022-3-8 with updates-testing enabled and sddm-0.19.0^git20220228.c257a40-3.fc36.x86_64, sddm-wayland-plasma-5.24.2-3.fc36.noarch, and plasma-workspace-5.24.2-3.fc36.x86_64 installed https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-cda6070d01 2. Click the Keyboard Layout box in sddm on Wayland 3. Select us in the Keyboard Layout box 4. Reboot Actual results: The sddm on Wayland keyboard layout setting didn't persist on the next boot. Expected results: The sddm on Wayland keyboard layout setting would persist on the next boot like the Desktop Session setting does. Additional info: Clicking on the Virtual Keyboard box in sddm on Wayland never showed the virtual keyboard as previously reported https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2055627
The keyboard layout setting in sddm doesn't seem to be saved when a Plasma session is started and ended. When I changed the keyboard layout from af to us in sddm on Wayland, logged into Plasma on Wayland, then logged out of Plasma, the keyboard layout was af again each of a few times.
