Hmm yes, I think this is the fallout of bz 2037786; I fixed one seg but I think it's moved along. I'll look at a bit more.
I think: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/merge_requests/4912 should clear up this seg; whether it moves elsewhere is a good question, as is the source of the bad TARGETS
