Description of problem: I ran sudo dnf upgrade --refresh in a Fedora 36 KDE Plasma installation with updates-testing enabled. A dnf problem indicated that qt5-qtimageformats-5.15.2-5.fc36.x86_64 requires libjasper.so.4()(64bit), but jasper-libs-3.0.2-1.fc36.x86_64 provides libjasper.so.6()(64bit) https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=29769393 Problem: package qt5-qtimageformats-5.15.2-5.fc36.x86_64 requires libjasper.so.4()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed - cannot install both jasper-libs-3.0.2-1.fc36.x86_64 and jasper-libs-2.0.33-2.fc36.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package qt5-qtimageformats-5.15.2-5.fc36.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package jasper-libs-2.0.33-2.fc36.x86_64 ====================================================================================================== Package Architecture Version Repository Size ====================================================================================================== Skipping packages with conflicts: (add '--best --allowerasing' to command line to force their upgrade): jasper-libs x86_64 3.0.2-1.fc36 updates-testing 161 k Transaction Summary ====================================================================================================== Skip 1 Package Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): jasper-libs-3.0.2-1.fc36.x86_64 How reproducible: The error happened 3/3 times when running sudo dnf upgrade --refresh or sudo dnf offline-upgrade download with updates-testing enabled. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot a Fedora 36 KDE Plasma installation updated to 2022-3-13 with updates-testing enabled 2. Log in to Plasma on Wayland 3. Start konsole 4. sudo dnf upgrade --refresh or sudo dnf offline-upgrade download with updates-testing enabled. The update must contain jasper-libs-3.0.2-1.fc36 Actual results: A dnf problem showing qt5-qtimageformats-5.15.2-5.fc36.x86_64 requires libjasper.so.4()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed Expected results: No dnf problem would happen. Additional info: Packages requiring jasper-libs might need to be rebuilt.
Thanks for notice. Japser-3.0.2 should never reach Fedora 36 and lower. My fault. I have unpushed those updates from bodhi, so it should be fine now.
