Comment 1 Ben Cotton 2022-08-09 13:13:59 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 37 development cycle.
Changing version to 37.

Comment 2 Aoife Moloney 2023-11-23 00:10:12 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 37 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 37 on 2023-12-05.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '37'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden.
Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 37 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.

Comment 3 Michael J Gruber 2023-11-23 10:05:02 UTC
gmime30 is at 3.2.14 by now (and the Fedora package still sitting at 3.2.7).

The bug is still valid, and at least some reaction by the maintainer would be appreciated.

Comment 4 Kalev Lember 2023-11-23 11:05:59 UTC
Oh, sorry, I totally missed this ticket.

Looks like what happened here is that gmime upstream has stopped uploading gmime tarballs to https://download.gnome.org/sources/gmime after 3.2.7 release, so the fedora gnome package maintenance scripts didn't pick the updates up any more.

Comment 5 Michael J Gruber 2023-11-23 11:11:59 UTC
Yes, see the original report for the new upstream URL.

I have to admit that I don't remember why I cared about the new version back then (some build dependency - maybe astroid or such) and have not checked the recent changes, but it's still the same major.minor.

OK, updates done for rawhide and F39 both. I've also updated https://release-monitoring.org/project/13124/ with the new URL and added Fedora's gmime30 to the package mapping there.
