Description of problem: pprof doesn't install on EPEL9 because nothing provides gv Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): pprof-2.9.1-2.el9 Steps to Reproduce: 1. sudo dnf -y install pprof Actual results: ... Problem: conflicting requests - nothing provides gv needed by pprof-2.9.1-2.el9.noarch Additional info: From what I'm seeing, there are 2 ways to deal with this 1) Change the spec file to Recommend gv instead of Require it. From what I see on the source (I might be wrong), the application can work and do some of it's functions without requiring the GV package. Setting it to Recommend on the spec won't fix the problem, but it enables the package to install in the current situation. 2) Ask for gv to get ported to EPEL9. The gv package is currently available for EPEL8, but not for EPEL9. Getting the package for EPEL9 would solve the instalation problem. This problem was found using the following service: https://tdawson.fedorapeople.org/epel/willit/epel9/status-wont-install.html
gv is a document viewer, I would assume a minimal fix here would be to make pperf use a different document viewer, such as evince. Failing that, if you simply drop the dependency, most functionality might still work.
