Created attachment 1871589 [details] As you can see I have the theme set to dark and virt-manager is not in dark mode. Description of problem: When switching Gnome to dark mode not all apps follow the dark theme. Examples are Vivaldi and virt-manager they are both still in the light theme. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Gnome 42 How reproducible: This happens every time I try to switch to dark mode. Steps to Reproduce: 1.install vivaldi or virt-manager 2.change theme to dark mode 3.nothing changes for those 2 applications Actual results: Applications stay in light theme instead of switching to dark mode. Expected results: Applications switch to a dark theme Additional info: This use to work fine when using gnome tweaks and changing the theme to dark. I now cannot even use that to force the dark theme because there is no longer a dark theme option inside of gnome tweaks.
It would be nice if the gnome-control-center changes also the gtk3 theme, at least for those known. Otherwise this new thing in GNOME 42 works only for gtk4 applications and users are forced to install gnome-tweaks and change the "legacy" theme to "Adwaita-dark" to have majority of the applications (those in "legacy" gtk3) in the dark theme. I foresee a lot of bug reports like this one. An early example: bug #2074945.
