I have just imported qalculate-qt to Fedora[1][2] and created newpackage updates for F37/Rawhide, F36, F35, and EPEL9[3]. This is the upstream replacement for qalculate-kde. If the maintainers of qalculate-kde prefer to retire it in favor of qalculate-qt, I will add the necessary upgrade path to qalculate-qt: > # Renamed upstream > Provides: qalculate-kde = %{?epoch:%{epoch}:}%{version}-%{release} > Obsoletes: qalculate-kde < 0.9.7.10-34 However, the new qalculate-qt package is parallel-installable with qalculate-kde (which is why its review was not under the Package Renaming Process), so it’s fine to keep qalculate-kde in the distribution as long as desired. Please let me know your preference, and note that I would like to offer co-maintainer privileges on this new package to the current maintainers of qalculate-kde. Yes, old kde4-based qalculate-kde needs retirement and replacement. Thanks.
I have given commit access on qalculate-qt to recently-active maintainers of qalculate-kde: that is, rdieter and tdawson; and also to nonamedotc since they maintain libqalculate and qalculate-gtk. I have also added the upgrade path from qalculate-kde in Rawhide[1]: > # Upstream renamed/rewrote qalculate-kde as qalculate-qt. This package replaces > # qalculate-kde, and qalculate-kde is retired, beginning with F37. For F36 and > # F35, qalculate-qt co-exists with qalculate-kde, and the two packages are > # parallel-installable. > Provides: qalculate-kde = %{?epoch:%{epoch}:}%{version}-%{release} > Obsoletes: qalculate-kde < 0.9.7.10-34 Please go ahead and retire qalculate-kde in Rawhide and then close this bug. Thanks! [1] https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qalculate-qt/c/14b30dfd6b25270e542cfc3fed0bf0396835adc1?branch=rawhide
(Polite ping to remind that qalculate-kde can now be retired.)
I'll take this. Expect a pull request on qalculate-qt soon with the proper Obsoletes and Provides, and once that is built in Rawhide, I'll retire qalculate-kde

Yep, I just saw that. The Provides and Obsoletes look correct. A very good comment as well. Thank you very much. That has been built, and it looks like everything is in order in Rawhide. I'm going to retire qalculate-kde in Rawhide. qalculate-kde has already been released in F36 and F35. There are no security issues that I know of, so I'll just let those stand as is.
qalculate-kde retired in Rawhide
Thanks!
