Description of problem: gitg is not available in RHEL8 or EPEL8, please build it. I can (co-)maintain the EPEL8 branch if you like. FAS: rathann.
EPEL8 build can be made off f29 branch with 6d70ba96926f87c5b539f4cdd20568be36ce10f1 reverted and https://copr-dist-git.fedorainfracloud.org/cgit/rathann/epel-8-missing/gitg.git/tree/gitg-3.30.1-rhel8.patch?h=epel8 patch for crippled libgit2-glib (libssh2 disabled, removing some API) in RHEL8. Here's my copr build with these fixes: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/rathann/epel-8-missing/package/gitg/ .
As I said previously, I'm willing to maintain this in epel8 if you're not interested.
Per https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/epel-policy/#stalled_epel_requests I will open a ticket with releng in two weeks if there's no response.
Please go ahead and build it. I see you are already an admin on the package so you should have all the access you need.
Thanks! Branch requested: https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/49271
