Comment 1 Panu Matilainen 2022-04-28 09:25:03 UTC
Rpm 4.18.0-alpha1 is in rawhide since April 26th

Comment 2 Panu Matilainen 2022-06-29 06:26:46 UTC
Rawhide updated to 4.18.0-beta1.

Comment 3 Jens Petersen 2022-08-23 05:04:01 UTC
It seems `rpmbuild -bb` now implies --clean.

Is that documented somewhere other than the manpage?

In particular it would be nice to know how to restore the old default behavior.

Comment 5 Panu Matilainen 2022-08-23 05:43:14 UTC
It's mentioned in the release notes as as fix (which we think it is):
"Fix package build tree not getting removed on successful build"

Pass --noclean if you prefer to clean up manually.

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2022-08-23 05:57:10 UTC
Okay I suppose it is subjective.

To me it is a breaking change of a long-standing behavior:
it would be good to mention it too in the Change page I feel.

+1

Comment 8 Ben Cotton 2022-08-23 19:21:11 UTC
Today we reached the Code Complete (100% complete) milestone on the F37 schedule: https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-37/f-37-key-tasks.html

At this time, all F37 Changes should be 100% complete. You can indicate this by setting this tracker to the ON_QA status. If you need to defer this Change to F38 please NEEDINFO me.

Note that we are entering the Beta freeze. Additional package changes to complete this Change will need an approved blocker or freeze exception. See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_blocker_bug_process and https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_freeze_exception_bug_process for more information.

Changes that have not reached the ON_QA status will be given to FESCo for evaluation of contingency plans.

Comment 9 Panu Matilainen 2022-09-06 08:57:32 UTC
Rawhide updated to 4.18.0-rc1 on Sep 2nd, and submitted as an update to F37 now too. Final version is expected in a couple of weeks or so.

Comment 10 Panu Matilainen 2022-10-03 11:29:41 UTC
Rpm 4.18.0 final in F37 stable since about a week ago, rawhide earlier. Change complete.

Comment 11 Ben Cotton 2022-11-15 16:22:28 UTC
F37 was released today, so I am closing this tracker. If this Change was not completed, please notify me ASAP.
