Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:
I run
ipa-client-install --no-ntp --automount-location default --principal=admin --password="xxxx"
This works on RHEL7, i.e. the automount location is added to sssd config and autofs works afterwards.
Running the same command on RHEL8, I get this error:
Configuring automount:
Automount configuration failed: CalledProcessError(Command ['/usr/sbin/ipa-client-automount', '--debug', '-U', '--location', 'default'] returned non-zero exit status 2: '')
The overall ipa-client-install command thinks, it was sucessfull, though:

(ipa-client-install 4.6.8 on RHEL7)

succeeds same as on RHEL7 systems and configures automount-location

If I run the ipa-client-automount separately after running ipa-client-install it does succeed:
/usr/sbin/ipa-client-automount -U --location default

Configured /etc/idmapd.conf
Restarting sssd, waiting for it to become available.
Started autofs
Return code 2 means that the client is not configured, which I guess is technically true since the installation isn't finished yet because installation hasn't been marked as true in the state store.
It is likely best to move the call to automount to just before the last logger statement in ipaclient/install/client.py::_install.
automount is not considered a fatal error to the client installation since it can be configured manually afterward.
Note that there is an error in the reproducer, it should be --location=default (otherwise it gets set to --principal=admin).
