Created attachment 1883064 [details] The X11 log file Description of problem: After a recent update of Fedora 36 which resulted in the installation of kernel 5.17.7, I am no longer able to login to an X11 GNOME session because the X11 server crashes. Before this update both the Wayland and the X11 sessions were working properly without any problems. After this update I can only login to a Wayland session. I have attached the relevant log files. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): akmod-nvidia 510.68.02 xorg-x11-drv-nvidia 510.68.02 kernel 5.17.7, 5.17.8, 5.17.9 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the NVIDIA driver from RPM Fusion 2. Reboot and login selecting the X11 GNOME session option Actual results: The X11 server crashes and the system returns back to the login screen Expected results: A proper login to a GNOME X11 session Additional info:

I uninstalled the NVIDIA driver and files, switched to Nouveau and rebooted. Then I reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers and after rebooting the problem was resolved.
