MAINTAINER NOTES: MariaDB server is built on top of mariadb-connector-c. 10.5.16 on top of 3.1.17 10.6.8 on top of 3.2.8 10.7.4 on top of 3.2.8 10.8.3 on top of 3.3.1 10.9.1-RC on top of 3.3.1 This can be found out by inspecting the state of the GitHub repository at the moment of releasing the particular version: https://github.com/MariaDB/server/tags ---> Select a tag of the version you want to inspect ---> click "Browse files" Then navigate to the directory of the C/C++ connector sub-project, and inspect the CMakeLists.txt file, which holds the version in format: SET(CPACK_PACKAGE_VERSION_MAJOR 3) SET(CPACK_PACKAGE_VERSION_MINOR 3) SET(CPACK_PACKAGE_VERSION_PATCH 1) As can be seen, the MariaDB 10.5 requires version lesser than the one we have in the base Fedora (3.2). The 3.2 version was introduced into Fedora during CentOS Stream 9 and RHEL 9 development, so we wouldn't need to deal with a problematic rebase 3.1 -> 3.2 in C9S and RHEL 9. I don't see a need to rebase to a later version in Fedora for now. I would wait until the next LTS series is announced (which likely be 10.10 series) and rebase both MariaDB server and the MariaDB C/C++ connector in the base Fedora to the version.
The information about which MariaDB connector C version is used in which MariaDB version can be found here as well: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/about-mariadb-connector-c/
