Description of problem: When the RHEL 8.6 kernel boots on a system with an Intel wireless network card (iwlwifi driver) and the iwlwifi module can not load the firmware, the system kernel panics. This was not an issue with the RHEL 8.5 kernel. Remove all iwl*-firmware packages 2. Boot the RHEL 8.5 kernel -> works 3. Boot the RHEL 8.6 kernel -> panics Actual results: Kernel panic on boot Expected results: Kernel continues to boot without a functioning iwlwifi wireless connection. Additional info:
