Description of problem: No url example for rhel and windows template in the catalog. I understand it's taking values from the template annotations, but if the annotations are missing in the template, should we still provide a better example? especially for RHEL? Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. create vm from catalog 2. select the disk source 'url' in customize mode 3. Actual results: no example for rhel and windows Expected results: in 4.10, we have examples for rhel and windows Additional info:
please provide the exact strings/urls you wish to add
(In reply to Gilad Lekner from comment #1) > please provide the exact strings/urls you wish to add In 4.10, it recommends user to download RHEL from portal: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/479/ver=/rhel---8/ Example: For RHEL, visit the RHEL download page (requires login) and copy the download link URL of the KVM guest image (expires quickly) can we add the same thing to 4.11?
> I understand it's taking values from the template annotations, but if the annotations are missing in the template, should we still provide a better example? especially for RHEL? As discussed with PM and back end teams, UI should only use the provided URLs from the template. It may make sense to have this links, it may make sense to open a discussion with the SSP team, Ronen, Dominik WDYT? Closing the bug on UI, as we will not want to give URLs that are not available when using the template with a different tool.
Ack, let me check what can be done in the templates.
Template information is coming from the template so it makes sense the URL will also be part of it
I created a PR to add the missing links to the RHEL templates. It would also be good to adjust the KVM Guest Image description on the download pages to also mention OpenShift Virtualization, so the user knows which image to download. For Windows templates I'm not sure what to do. The old example referenced the installer ISO, but that is no source which can be booted from directly. Should we move the installer ISO link to the description of the Windows templates?
Verified on ssp-operator v4.11.0-54
