This is a tracking bug for Change: Retire python3.7 For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/RetirePython3.7 The python3.7 package will be retired without replacement from Fedora Linux 40. Python 3.7 will be End of Life in June 2023 and it will be kept around only to test software targeting Debian 10 “Buster” LTS. The removal is more or less aligned with Debian 10 TLS EOL (June 2024) -- Fedora 39 (the last one to include Python 3.7) will likely EOL on 2024-11-12. If you encounter a bug related to this Change, please do not comment here. Instead create a new bug and set it to block this bug.
Setting low priority as nothing can be done for a while.
(In reply to Miro Hrončok from comment #1) > Setting low priority as nothing can be done for a while. Because it's for Fedora Linux 40.
Rawhide is Fedora Linux 40 now. We plan to retire Python 3.7: - right before the branching of Fedora Linux 40 (2024-02-06) - when the package is not buildable or installable (Whichever happens sooner.)
Retired in https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python3.7/c/169cd4fe9165211b82d511248d261bfcce76d158?branch=rawhide due to setuptools update to 68.2.2 (rhbz#2208644) which no longer supports this Python version.
