Description of problem: Making a screencast with Gnome Screenshot produces a video that appears to have a correct length, but it only plays for a moment and then it gets stuck. Proposed as a Blocker for 37-final by Fedora user lruzicka using the blocker tracking app because: Basic functionality is broken. Proposing a Final blocker.
This is not a bug in gnome-screenshot, but in the integrated video recording functionality in gnome-shell (which you trigger by pressing PrintScreen). Reassigning.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 37 development cycle. Changing version to 37.
Discussed during the 2022-08-22 blocker review meeting: [0] The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedBlocker (Beta)" was made as it violates the following criterion: "All elements of the default panel (or equivalent) configuration in all release-blocking desktops must function correctly in typical use", on the basis it shows an icon in the panel when you trigger a recording. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/merge_requests/2436 got merged, so this should be fixed (at least upstream for now)

I've tested it just a in VM so far, but with gnome-shell-43~rc-2.fc37.x86_64 the screen recording seems to work perfectly, no issues.
