Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
This is the continuous discussion for bz 2111030. Stalld is running as unconfined_service_t type, which violates some compliance rules shipped in OpenShift
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
stalld-1.10-1.el8_4.x86_64
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install stalld
2. ps -eZ | grep stalld
3.
Actual results:
Expected results:
Additional info:
I can confirm quickly adding "/bin/sh -c" in front of ExecStart in systemd unit file could simply change the unconfined_service_t to initrc_t.
Thanks a lot Jiri for your confirm!
@Leah we got confirm from NTO developer that NTO's stalld system unit source is RHEL not its own MachineConfig.

Chen
Hi Colum,
We are tracking this issue in 8.4-z stream in this bz 2126496. For estimate time I think perhaps developer team has more accurate answer. By looking at c#27 seems for next minor release of 8.4-z will pick this fix up but better to wait for @lleshchi 's confirm. Leah could you please help us to figure out whether there is an ETA for this fix if any ?
Speaking of whether it's a blocker for Nokia or not, technically it is definitely not a blocker because this issue only violates a compliance check and it doesn't break any functions for OCP. But if Nokia insists this issue is blocking their product release, for example, if this compliance issue is not resolved then their product can not be released, it could be a blocker for Nokia. From Red Hat's point of view, it is not a blocker but it depends on Nokia's internal policy.

Chen
