Created attachment 1903401 [details]
Switch from nose to pytest

Description of problem:
There is no `python3-pydot` package available for RHEL 9. Please branch and build `pydot` for EPEL 9.

Additional info:
The only modification to the rawhide branch necessary to build against EPEL 9 is to use pytest instead of nose, which is no longer under active development [1] and has not been packaged for RHEL 9.

I've attached a patch which switches this package to pytest, and triggered a scratch build to demonstrate success: koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=90436304

It would probably be good to switch to nose in the Fedora branches as well.

Thanks!

Hi Björn, is there anything I can do to help move this request along?

Thanks!

Comment 2 Scott K Logan 2023-01-03 18:08:59 UTC
Hello Björn, it's been several weeks since my last message. I'd really like to move forward with getting this package into EPEL 8. I'm happy to help make this happen if there is something I can do.

One last ping - can you branch and build this package, or should I file a releng ticket [1] to move forward?
