Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 211516
kernel dm: memory issues cause "failures" when creating many snapshots
Last modified: 2013-02-28 23:04:21 EST
Description of problem:
This is a RHEL5 dup of bz 174834.
I reproduced this issue while attempting to create 32 snapshots.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Linux taft-04 2.6.18-1.2726.el5 #1 SMP Wed Oct 11 18:53:39 EDT 2006 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[root@taft-04 ~]# rpm -q lvm2
[root@taft-04 ~]# rpm -q device-mapper
This will be solved by new dm-io implementation, unfortunately there were some
design changes last days and patches are not stable yet. So first possible
include for RHEL 5.1.
