Please branch and build backuppc in EPEL9
I don't do a lot of EPEL packaging these days but I do maintain a COPR for EPEL releases. Please try it and let me know if everything works. https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/hobbes1069/BackupPC/
Macro, any luck with the COPR? Does that work well enough?
Marco, I'm closing for now. Feel free to reopen if the COPR doesn't do what you need.
We wanted to test BackupPC on Rocky 9.1 but your COPR is missing BackupPC-4.4.0-8.el9.x86_64.rpm and Epel-9 is missing packages perl-Net-FTP-AutoReconnect-0.3-35.el9.noarch.rpm perl-Net-FTP-RetrHandle-0.2-34.el9.noarch.rpm which is used by BackupPC I've rebuilt the following FC36 packages using mock locally and installed these packages successfully on Rocky 9. perl-Net-FTP-AutoReconnect-0.3-35.fc36.src.rpm BackupPC-4.4.0-8.fc36.src.rpm perl-Net-FTP-RetrHandle-0.2-34.fc36.src.rpm rsync-bpc-3.1.3.0-4.fc36.src.rpm BackupPC-XS-0.62-7.fc36.src.rpm Please branch and build BackupPC for EPEL 9. TIA.
The other deps will need to be built first. If you will, please open bugs for them blocking this bug. Once they are available I can build BackupPC.
Added https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2155545 for perl-Net-FTP-RetrHandle and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2155539 for perl-Net-FTP-AutoReconnect
I've also built the noted packages with mock as per comment #4 and would like to see BackupPC supported in EPEL 9. I will add my request to the other dependent packages.
Notibly there are the BackupPC-xs and BacupPC-rsync packages. I'll check if their deps are complete as well as soon as I can.
Looks like both can build now. I'll add it to my TODO list to make this happen in the near future.
All branches for epel9 for BackupPC, BackupPC-XS, and rsync-bpc have been requested.
